Merzouga is only 20 km away from Algeria border where the paved road ends and the real Sahara Desert sand dunes begins. Merzouga desert is the most commun point of Morocco Camel treks and Bivouacs. To experience the Sahara desert dunes it is a must to take a camel trip and stay overnight in a Berber tent. The camel trip take approximately 1 hours 30 minutes through amazing red-orange sand dunes at sunset to reach the desert camp where you will be served local nomad dinner in the desert tent. Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades 330km

Departure our Merzouga desert tour from Marrakech with morocco camel trekking at 8am, acrossing the Tizi N Tichka pass of the High Atlas Mountains(2260m) enjoying the montanous roud and the spectacular Berber villages, to reach to the Unseco world heritage site "Ait benhaddou village", the fortified ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs. Ait Benhaddou has served as a natural scenery for many movies producers. You wil go on a walk with a local guide crossing the river to the other side to discover The Ksar and climb to the top of the hill for an amazing view ont he fertile river valley, surrounded by desert, and with the snow capped Atlas mounrtains as a backdrop, the view from the top seems to encompase the whole world; making the ascent through the alleys of Ait-ben-Haddou, which is like rambling through the middle ages. After lunch we will in one of Restaurants there we will continue our Merzouga desert tour to Dades Gorge through Ouarzazate, palm groves of Skoura and Valley of Roses, where we will spend the first night in a traditional hotel.

Day 2: Dades Valley Todra Gorge - Erfoud -Risani -Merzouga 270km

Our Merzouga Desert Tour continues after a traditional Breakfast , taking the road of 1000 kasbahs drive around the colourful Berber villages of the Dades valley, to get to Tineghir A beautiful valley of 15 km of date palms ends up with spectacular Gorges, mainly used for rock climbing. The road to the Gorge of todgha passes green palmeraies and Berber villages until, 15km along, high walls of pink and grey rock close in around the road, where we go on a trek along the canyons of about 300m high. Afterwards we will head to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara Desert and you will have time for lunch on our way. Once you arrive to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will take a camel ride for 1 h30 min, while watching the sunset, to get to the camp in the oasis. Spending the night in the bivouac at Merzouga Sahara dunes under nomadic tents or outside under shooting stars. Play drums with the camel drivers.

Day 3: Merzouga - Alnif - Tazarine - Agdez - Marrakech 567km

An early wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga one of the best moment of Merzouga desert, afterwards you will ride back the camels to the hotel at the foot hills of erg chebbi dunes where you will have a typical breakfast in the hotel followed by shower. Drive back to Marrakech through Alnif, Tazarine, Draa valley,Agdez and Ouarazazate. In Ourazazate we will have free time for lunch and visit one of the famous Kasbahs Taourirt Kasbah. Afterwards we will continue to Marrakech, where your Merzouga desert tours 3 days / 2 nights ends. Crossing again the Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages between Ouarzazate and Marrakech. Drop off at your accommodation.

• Note:
  Please note that Marrakech to Merzouga 3 days/ 2 nights sahara desert tour is not recommended between November and January when the days are shorter. It's 567km and 10 hours drive from Merzouga to Marrakech on the 3rd day , so if possible we recommend the 4 day sahara desert tour to avoid sitting in the car for this amount of time, however if you are limited in time, this tour will be perfect to see a lot 3 days.
