High Atlas Hiking, Desert & Coast

Welcome to Morroco! After you arrive at Marrakech Menara Airport, you'll be picked up by a driver and taken to your accommodation. Free time to spend at your leisure.

After you eat breakfast you will meet your local tour guide who will lead you through the stunning old city of Marrakech. As you explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site you will come across lively souks and maze-like alleys. Visit the Saadian Tombs, Medrasa Ben Youssef, tour the grounds of the Bahia Palace, marvel at the intricate decoration, and experience the sights and sounds of the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square and its souks.

After breakfast we will head south to the town of Amizmiz an untouched town by tourism at the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Here you can see local farmers, shepherds, terraced farming plots and small irrigation canals dug along the mountainside, all built by farmers to make this area suitable for agriculture. Upon arrival to Amezmiz you will meet your local guide who will take you on a hike through the small roads, mule paths and authentic berber villages in the surrounding hills. Regardless of what route you take, you're unlikely to see any other tourists as you hike between the Berber villages and traverse the gorgeous mountainside.

Today we will head to Agafay Desert, after a 50 -minute drive you will arrive at a spectacular luxury Camp where you will be able to take in the unusual lunar-esque views of the desert. When you arrive at your camp, head out into the desert on a camel ride, then settle in for the evening. After sunset, enjoy a traditional dinner and sit by the crackling fire, enjoying the silence in the desert and spectacular celestial views of the sky above.

After an unforgettable sunrise, be picked up and drive to Essaouira (approx 2.5 hours drive). You may have the chance to see local goats grazing on the argan tree. It's quite a sight!   Explore the small streets, the fishing port, the Thuya wood workshops and café life of this charming small fishing town.  Overnight in Essaouira.

Take your time to enjoy a delicious breakfast in Essaouira, browse the many shops for leather, jewellery, lamps or trinkets. Watch the brightly painted ships bring their catch into the busy harbour or take a stroll along the long, sandy beach. This is the perfect place to enjoy some local seafood and unwind. Depending on your flight departure time, your driver will collect you and drive you back to Marrakech in time for your flight back home. Say  goodbye to Morocco!
